happy leap day!

A day like today only happens every four years... I think that should be celebrated with a paid day off!... too bad my employer doesn't feel the same way.

I have been seeing frog related things everywhere lately due to today being leap day. So what better day than today to show off the birthday card I made for my brother's frog-obsessed girlfriend.

What I used:
  • Autumn Leaves 5x7 in white card and envelope
  • Recollections Card Stock (purple and light blue on front of card)
  • Cricut Create-a-Critter cartridge for frog, lily pad, sun and cloud
  • Scrappy Moms Furry Friends "wishing you a HOPPY day"
  • Scrappy Moms Hooray for Birthdays "Happy Birthday to you!"
  • Cuttlebug Happy Birthday emboss folder

a simple birthday card

Cards are quickly becoming my favorite projects! I just love the fun funky things I can do with them and the smile they bring to the receiver's face. This past weekend was one of my best friend's birthday, I wanted a not-so-girly birthday card for my cat-loving friend and this is what I came up with.

What I used:
  • Autumn Leaves 5x7 in white card and envelope
  • DCWV Green Stack (stripey background from the front of card)
  • Recollections Jolly and Bright (white base from front of card)
  • Recollections Jolly and Bright (blue "happy birthday" and base from inside of card)
  • Cricut Create-a-Critter cartridge for "happy birthday" and cat
  • K&Company Birthday Sticker Medley (birthday hats and cupcake)

love is in the air

It's Valentine's Day!

Hubby and I agreed we would keep things low key and just exchange cards and have a quiet dinner at home. Of course he couldn't just do that and had a BEAUTIFUL bouquet delivered to my desk at work :) leaving me to look like the cheap one with nothing for him but a homemade card.

So here is my simple but sweet, valentine for my hubby. I wrote in the pink square with a thin-tip sharpie to finish it off.

What I used:
  • red and pink card stock
  • red raffia
  • some 3D embellishment stickers
  • Martha Stewart "Heartbeat Pattern" all over punch

learning the ropes

Well, I did a blog/journal thing in high school but I just never got into it. Since I have been looking so many great blogs recently I have been inspired to give it another go.

I am hoping to share my craft creations. I scrapbook and have recently tried my hand at card making. I gotta say I'm really enjoying it addicted and am looking forward to trying out new things with my Cricut!

Now I just need to figure out how to post and share pictures of my own creations.
